Publications Analysis Workshop

Location: Waite Campus, Adelaide

 

The SA Chapter of ARMS is running a two day Publication Analysis Workshop. This event is open and free to all members of ARMS.

The first day of the workshop will take attendees through a basic introduction to bibliometrics, the data and metrics involved, and how they are applied to measuring the output and performance of institutions, departments and individuals. The second day (which assumes solid knowledge of bibliometrics or attendance of the first day of the workshop, and basic skills in MS Excel) will take place in a computer lab and give attendees hands-on experience with publication and citation analysis, using the tools you will have available at your institutions.

This event will take place at the Waite Campus. Day 1 will take place in the Auditorium of the SARDI Plant Research Centre on Hartley Grove, off Waite Road, in Urrbrae (Building 30, grid D5 on the map). Day 2 will take place in Computer Suite 1 of the Charles Hawker Centre on Waite Road, in Urrbrae (Building 2, grid D2 on the map). Free parking is available in the Waite Road car park (grid C3 on the map).

Unfortunately, as it is not a subscribed product for the trainer, Elsevier's SciVal suite will not be part of the program.

SA Chapter Annual General Meeting


ARMS SA Chapter Members and interested parties are advised that the SA Chapter Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 09 February 2017 commencing 16:30 at The Howling Owl, 13 Frome St, Adelaide SA (drinks and nibbles will be provided).
 
The Agenda will include:
  • Election of 2017 SA Chapter Committee
  • Public consultation on local chapter activities
  • Discussion on upcoming accreditation activities
  • Updates on the 2017 ARMS Conference in Wellington New Zealand
  • Information on recent ARMS initiatives
