Sector Manager (Business, Design and Urban)
Kavitha Chandra-Shekeran is the Sector Manager (Business, Design and Urban), working as part of the Research Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group at RMIT University. She is responsible for the establishment and development of research collaborations between RMIT researchers and commercial and not for profit partners including government.
Kavitha has over 20 years of experience working in the not for profit sector and State government, including Melbourne City Mission, Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission and the community health sector including the Macfarlane Burnet Institute for Medical Research and Public Health.
Having worked in the not-for profit and government sectors Kavitha is committed to working with academics to ensure their research is translated and used for community benefit.
Kavitha holds a Masters of Arts from Monash University and training qualifications.
