Dr Liz Barbour is a Research Development Adviser for The Faculty of Science at The University of Western Australia (UWA). This position is a joint appointment between the Faculty and the Research, Development and Innovation team within the Office of Research Enterprise. Dr Barbour came to this position more than 5 years ago having had industry experience in South Africa, State Government experience in Western Australia and been a researcher, lecturer or Adjunct at the University of Natal (South Africa), University of Murdoch and UWA. She has been invited to consult to the industry in Australia, Brazil and Vanuatu. Prior to being employed by UWA, Dr Barbour was successful with Natural Heritage Trust, Rural Industries Research Development Corporation, ARC Linkage and ACIAR funding. She also had the experience of patenting a discovery and building a relationship to license this to a company in the USA. Throughout her career she has presented to a wide range of audiences ranging from researchers, research administrators, community groups to industry through verbal and written presentations.
