A research administrator is a key person in managing research in universities, government bodies and research institutions. Dealing with complexity and ambiguity in the compliance, legal, finance related areas and, of course, managing and supporting academics; this role requires tremendous agility, accuracy and flexibility in the execution of duties. Quick decisions are required, and fast turnarounds are imperative.
This session is devoted to 4 topics that cover the major aspects of research administration: Pre-award (when applying for funding), Contract (when negotiating and executing the agreement), Post Award (setting up the milestones to manage the project through the term of the contract), Closure (Closing a project, while recording compliance).
Attendees are invited to stay back for networking over refreshments.
Who should attend: New research administrators or experienced hands who would appreciate sharing some ideas on best practices.
