Job Description

The Faculty of Education and Social Work play an incredible role in conducting research which ultimately contributes to improving educational and social wellbeing and harnesses the vast potential that diversity brings to education and social work.

You could have a key role in this work, we have an excellent opportunity for you to join our team as a Research Programme Coordinator on a full-time, permanent basis.

You will have an emphasis on providing grant application support for researchers in our Faculty. This portfolio currently includes approximately 60 academic staff and 100 projects that vary in scale and complexity: projects may be publically-funded, commercial, internal or consulting; grants may range in size from thousands to millions of dollars. 

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Understand and effectively communicate a wide range of funder guidelines, policies and contract requirements
  • Develop productive working relationships with researchers and service partners
  • Proactively monitor and support the effective administration of grant applications, budgets and project deliverables 
  • Prepare high-quality communications for internal audiences
  • Effectively manage competing priorities 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures
  • Genuinely enjoy helping highly accomplished, busy people

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Comprehensive experience in the research support sector
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including editing
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Knowledge of project budgeting and MS Excel
  • Strong planning and organising capabilities
