Dr George Carayannopoulos is an experienced executive and consultant in the Higher Education and Research Development sectors. He has led numerous high-level strategic projects and initiatives aimed at improving research development as well as organisational performance. George is currently the Head of the Higher Degree Research Administration Centre at the University of Sydney.
He has a background in policy development, analysis and evaluation with a PhD and subsequent publications which examine collaboration and coordination in public policy. He has a strong interest in research training, researcher support and development and has been a contributor to an edited book series on researcher development. In recent years he has presented a number of papers at the; International Network of Research Management Societies Congress (INORMS), Quality in Postgraduate Research (QPR) Conference, the Higher Education Research Development Society (HERDSA) Conference and the Research Workforce Forum.
