Three WA ARMS members attended the ARMS/PraxisAuril 2019 UK Study Tour in early June – Anthony Fortina (UWA), Michelle Duryea (ECU) and Tara McLaren (Telethon Kids).  The Study Tour was designed specifically to support understanding of how to build, sustain and measure industry engagement.

At this session, Anthony, Michelle and Tara will provide an overview of the Study Tour, outline the political context and background to the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) and will answer questions about their reflections of the Tour in the context of their own organisations.

Background: UK universities have commenced planning for the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) and are expecting the introduction of a national Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) this year. The KEF will be examining best practice in knowledge exchange and what metrics may best be used to measure such exchange activities. The tour was a unique opportunity to meet with policy makers (Research England) and practitioners (various universities) as they prepare for these national programs which are designed to highlight engagement with industry.


Cancellation and Refund Policy for ARMS Events

ARMS reserve the right to cancel, postpone or re-schedule courses and events due to minimum numbers not being reached or for other unforeseen circumstances. In the event of a cancellation, ARMS will generally aim to advise all participants in writing five (5) days prior to the scheduled event and will refund the full registration fee including administrative charges within 30 days after notification (if applicable).
Please note, individuals that need to arrange flights and accommodation for attendance to an ARMS event do so at your own risk and cost. It is highly recommended that travel insurance be taken out by the individual. We also strongly advise that you contact our office if you need to arrange flights and accommodation to obtain an update on numbers prior to making your booking.
