Marina is a Research Development Officer at Flinders University with strong skills in academic writing, science communication, and project management. Marina first joined Flinders University in Nov 2022 as a Research Support Officer within the College of Medicine and Public Health after completing her PhD in bacterial protein biochemistry at the University of Melbourne. Marina’s experience in research support has involved working closely with clinician researchers to develop their research programs and identify relevant funding opportunities, providing comprehensive grant coordination support for NHMRC and MRFF applications, and supporting strategic initiatives within the Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute. As a new Research Development Officer, Marina will leverage research performance data to drive researcher development at Flinders and aid researchers in producing competitive applications for health and medical research funding. Marina is also passionate about gender equity in research and is an active member of the CMPH Gender Inclusion Diversity and Equity committee, where she supports various data projects towards measuring gender equity in research as the co-convenor of the Metrics & Evaluation Working Group.
