Strategic Plan: Towards 2030

Launched on December 2, 2024, the ARMS Strategic Plan: Towards 2030 represents not just a roadmap for our future, but also our commitment to supporting the dynamic community of Research Management Professionals across Australia, Singapore, Aotearoa (New Zealand), and the Pacific Islands. This plan reinforces our role as the peak professional body in the field of research management.

The strategic priorities outlined in this plan provide a clear framework for guiding our decisions and actions. We are dedicated to showcasing the value of ARMS to research leaders across all sectors, government bodies, and key stakeholders. Through our advocacy and engagement efforts, we aim to be recognised as an essential resource—not only for our members but for the broader research ecosystem.

A key strategic priority of our strategy is our commitment to honouring and incorporating the practices of First Nations and Indigenous peoples in our work. We understand the importance of respect and inclusivity in advancing research excellence.

Professional development remains central to our mission. As the research landscape becomes increasingly complex, we are focused on equipping our members with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in this evolving environment.

We are also dedicated to expanding the breadth, depth, and diversity of our membership. By attracting Research Management Professionals from a wide range of institutions and career stages, and strengthening our engagement with current members, we aim to foster more meaningful exchanges of knowledge and experience.

We encourage you to review our Strategic Plan: Towards 2030. It calls on all of us to lead with courage, embrace diverse perspectives, and collaborate effectively to achieve our collective goal—research excellence.
