Amanda has been a member of ARMS since joining the University of Tasmania in 2017 but has recently joined the Tasmania ARMS Chapter committee in 2023. Originally from the UK, Amanda has worked as a member of the Research Division in various roles during this period. Initially commencing in the Graduate Research Office handling HDR Candidature variations, before moving on to Coordinator of UTAS Researcher Development for 2 and a half years, where she managed training and development for both HDR candidates and Academic Researchers at all career stages.
Amanda has spent the last 3 years working as the Graduate Research Admissions Coordinator, assisting in the management of applicant enquiries and assessments, implementing project advertising for HDR recruitment and maintaining and scheduling scholarship round.
Amanda has attended an ARMS conference hosted in Tasmania and presented a poster on the Researcher Development Toolkit of transferable skills, as well as attending the online conference. Amanda has also taken numerous ARMS Professional development workshops and foundation modules, and has recently joined the reformed ARTN (Australian Research Training Network) where she hopes to continue to connect with her peers in other institutions and grow the network and discover like minded colleagues who share the same challenges and achievements.
