I began my Research Management career at Curtin University in Research Partnerships, focusing on facilitating relationships between industry and researchers. My efforts were split across bid development for CRC’s and CRC-P’s through the Research Office@Curtin and developing SME innovator projects through Innovation Central Perth. This role offered the opportunity to learn from a diverse community of talented individuals and play a role in the establishment of some exciting projects. My current role at Edith Cowan University in the Research Analytics, Systems and Performance team has allowed me to extend my Research Management skills into analytics and reporting. This role has offered me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge in Research Excellence and how we report on this and utilise data to develop messaging to communicate that, both within the University and beyond.
My background prior to entering research management was in Operations and Business Systems Management in the resources and transport sectors. This stakeholder engagement experience has been invaluable in navigating the nuanced relationships in the research environment.
I look forward to the opportunity of being involved in this industry body to continue my learning experience and support the growth of other individuals as they negotiate the landscape of their Research Management careers.
