An engaging and results-driven research management professional with over ten years’ of experience in the Higher Education sector across the Pacific region and Australia as an educator, researcher, and advisor, and administrator. With a demonstrated passion and proven expertise in research training and development, Shalini has contributed to the advancement of Graduate Research programs in her professional career.

Shalini has effectively managed the planning and development of research training programs and HDR candidature operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. With a strong interest in student engagement, Shalini is dedicated to achieving excellence in student support to foster an effective learning environment. Shalini has successfully led cross-functional teams in implementing impactful research initiatives, student engagement and enhancing student satisfaction in her previous roles. With a research background and collaborative working style, Shalini has managed and contributed to various institutional level projects and worked with stakeholders from across the sector and industry to develop meaningful networks and partnerships.

Shalini has tertiary qualifications in Science and a PhD in Environmental Psychology from the University of New England, Australia, including accreditation as a Research Manager, Foundation with ARMS. Currently, she is completing the ARMS Established Level Accreditation Program (ELAP) and is involved with professional networks such as the Australian Council of Graduate Research (ACGR) and serves as an Associate Editor for Weather, Climate, and Society with the American Meteorological Society.

At present, Shalini works for the Office of the Deputy-Vice Chancellor (Education) at the University of Sydney. By joining the ARMS NSW Chapter, Shalini is keen to contribute and support the research management community.
