Following a demanding career in UK forensic science, I transitioned into research management while my daughters were very young. This change was more about achieving a balanced life than a carefully planned career move.  Yet, 15 years later, I’m still here, finding more purpose and fulfilment than I ever expected. I’ve gained experience in research management across two countries, two Australian States, and three Australian universities, which has broadened my skill set and adaptability.  Since 2015, I've been a part of Monash University, where I currently serve as the Director of the Monash Research Office, holding an advanced-level ARMS accreditation.

After a 30 year career as a researcher and then academic in the UK, the Netherlands and Australia, I became a Director of research offices. I was Director of the Research and Innovation Office at UTS from 2013 to 2018, Director of Research Grants, Contracts and Finance at the University of Melbourne from 2018 to 2023. I then became an Interim Director at Monash University in 2023 as Director of Research Grants and Development and now as Director of Research Services at the University of Adelaide in 2024.

I specialise in leadership, business process improvement, change management and growth.

ARMS CANCELLATION POLICY

Should your circumstances change, and you are unable to attend this workshop, you must contact ARMSAdmin@researchmanagement.org.au by no later than 10 working days prior to the commencement of the scheduled event. ARMS will refund the full registration fee minus any administrative fees.

Should you cancel less than 10 working days prior to the commencement of this workshop, no refund will be payable but instead you may wish to send a proxy.

ARMS reserve the right to cancel, postpone or re-schedule courses and events due to minimum numbers not being reached or for other unforeseen circumstances.  In the event of a cancellation, ARMS will aim to advise all participants in writing five (5) days prior to the scheduled event and will refund the full registration fee including administrative charges within 30 days after notification.
