ARMS invites you to join our two (2) new SIG convenors, Jade Hurst, TAC Victoria, and Tanya Karliychuk, ACCAN, as they relaunch the Research Funders SIG.

The SIG aims to seek new members that have the time and passion to actively share information and practice learnings associated with developing and managing funding schemes. All experience levels are welcome.

To relaunch the SIG, an initial meeting has been scheduled for all those interested in learning more about the SIG and how they can effectively contribute to the ongoing success of the group.

Agenda items for the first meeting include:

  • Purpose of the group;
  • Connections to other research funders;
  • Expectations;
  • Challenges and successes;
  • Terms of Reference; and
  • Meeting times.

Format: Online Zoom meeting

CPD: Accredited members (ARMAs and ARMFs) will automatically accrue 1 CPD hour per session attended.

Ongoing Membership to the Research Funders SIG will be by application.

To ensure that members are able to actively contribute at meetings and able to follow up on requests, membership to the Research Funders SIG will be by application only (a closed SIG)ARMS members may apply in writing to join the SIG which values the ongoing contributions of all their members.

You may apply before or after the initial meeting on the 12th of June. 

Interested professionals can apply to become a member of this SIG by emailing  ARMSMembership@researchmanagement.org.au with a brief response to each of the following questions (max. half page in total):

  1. What skills and experience could you bring to the Research Funders SIG? Please outline relevant current and past roles.
  2. What is it about this SIG which most interests you?
  3. What topics would you like to discuss with other research funders?
