Research Impact SIG Networking Session - Monday 04 April 2022
Research Impact SIG:
Monday 04 April 2022 12PM AEST
The ARMS Research Impact Special Interest Group holds monthly networking sessions.
The next session is Monday 04 April at 12pm AEST (Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra) noting daylight savings stops on Sunday 03 April 2022.
Each month we’ll have a discussion topic to frame the conversation. The aim of the sessions is for our community to meet and share ideas.
For the next networking session, we’ll be having a presentation and discussion of the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification. This classification allows universities to demonstrate their commitment to the communities they serve and to share good practice in engaged research and practice from across the sector. It has been the leading framework for institutional assessment and recognition of community engagement in US higher education for the past 15 years. The framework, after being contextualised for the Australian context through a pilot process, is now being implemented in Australia.
In this session, our special guest, Mitra Gusheh from UTS will provide background information on the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, the 2018 to 2020 Australian pilot and the lessons learned through this process, and the vision for the future of the Classification in Australia. We are also interested to hear from the New Zealand attendees their thoughts on this for NZ.
As those of you that attend regularly will be aware, this is an informal session.
CPD: Accredited members (ARMAs and ARMFs) will automatically accrue 1 CPD hour per session attended.
